This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

So happy this spot has opened here. The food was absolutely delicious and I look forward to trying more of their menu. Amazing gyoza, fried to perfection. Cucumber salad was very tasty. I got so excited for my meal that I forgot to take a photo but I can tell you itβs from their secret menu and I fell in love. The takiyaki balls were excellent, along with hamachi collar. They even brought us some lychee and yuzu drinks to test out and they were super tasty and refreshing. Atmosphere is super cute and staff is friendly and attentive.

Absolutely loved the food :) We stopped by for grabbing some quick apps and we were pleasantly surprised. The karaage chicken is the crispiest one Iβve tried in the Raleigh area and the spicy kyuori was just refreshingβ¦perfect for a summer afternoon :)

My kids and I had the pleasure of dining at Kokoro a few days ago, and they absolutely did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in until the very end, every detail made for a wonderful experience. Every dish stays true to its roots, and you can genuinely taste the passion, care, and craftsmanship in both the food and the hospitality. You arrive as strangers and leave feeling like family. The space transports you to Japan with its inviting atmosphere, authentic touches, and thoughtfully curated drinks that perfectly complement the menu. And if youβre lucky enough to grab a window seat, itβs hands down the best people-watching spot on the block. Kokoro is more than a mealβitβs an experience weβll happily return to again and again.
